Nice post, but one thing I don't understand is why you think getting up from the table is disrespectful. When playing a game that's likely to last 10 hours plus or a multi-day event, getting up and taking a breather is a great way to help you relax and can also help overcome tilt. It is in no way disrespectful and there is no etiquette that says you shouldn't do it.

Seriously though, unlucky with the KQ hand but with the 9's you were really hoping to hit trips on the flop or hit lower cards with a rainbow flop.
With all that action pre-flop and AK coming down you really should have checked and folded.
Its so tempting to put out a 'feeler' bet though so I do understand your play.

Yes. It is always better to get out if you're unsure (a bet not made is often better than a win). It seems clear they either hit on the flop, or held a large pocket pair and had trips on the flop. Either way, you were way over.

I think you are right. Five times the big blind would have been a lot better. If they were holding an Ace or a King with a low kicker they probably would have folded pre-flop. If they called it at least I would have known where I was.

I just played that hand awful though. Do you think I should have folded after the 2 pot bets?

I didn't really catch how many players there were ...
